Make Your Pool Landscaping Mesh with Your Entire Backyard

There's a lot involved when you add a swimming pool to your Long Island, NY backyard. It's simply not excavating, grading, and building the pool. It's designing a comprehensive landscape that will bring your established scenery in line with your new pool.

At Autumn Leaf Landscape Designs, Inc., we have years of pool landscaping design experience bringing a new swimming pool and meshing it with your existing landscape. Our goal is to create a recreational space that will invite you to spend every waking moment in your backyard to connect, relax and unwind. We go into great detail to match your beds and floral paths to parallel your pool and patio. You may have established your landscape within the past five years, but no one will notice that your new pool was just built this year because everything comes together when we plan and build it. We'll create flow that consolidates all the lines and curves of your property. Everything will meet in one continuous pattern so the eye can take in the entire backyard that includes turf, plants, fencing, pavers, pool, and water features in one harmonious motif.

And we'll create a landscaped backdrop that creates privacy, natural beauty, and peace to you and your guests.

Here are some of the products that we'll use to bring your entire backyard in line with your new swimming pool:

  1. Flowers
  2. Grass
  3. Mulch
  4. Rocks
  5. Shrubs
  6. Small trees
  7. Stones

Our plant media is more than just pretty flowers though. We'll take different plants with varying heights, widths, leaf texture, and blooming time to create an oasis that brings a feeling of wholeness with it. You'll feel like you're entering your own secret garden. We'll add fencing around your new swimming pool or around your entire backyard to encapsulate these beds and borders that meander throughout your property's perimeter.

Additionally, we're practical. We won't add any plants that will drop its leaves, petals, or seedheads into your pool or spa. Here's a sampling of the poolside plants and garden features that we can add to your overall design that won't make a mess:

  1. Rocks around your waterfall
  2. Mulched areas bordering with artificial or real turf
  3. Landscape rocks to add to the flow of the backyard
  4. Japanese red maple and other ornamental trees to give a sense of feng shui
  5. Ornamental grasses that draw the eye upward as well as provide texture
  6. Variegated yellow and green shrubbery and trees such as golden euonymus
  7. Azaleas, hibiscus, hydrangeas and other flowering shrubs that give a punch of color throughout the entire spring, summer and fall season
  8. Daylilies, brown-eyed Susans, lavender, Joe Pye weed, daisies, and other perennial summer favorites
  9. Annuals such as dahlias, petunias, impatiens, coleus, begonias and others to add color, texture, and interest
  10. Miniature pine trees and evergreen shrubs
  11. Arborvitae or bamboo as natural privacy screens

All of these plants provide a natural getaway that brings with it a feeling of tranquility and seclusion.
